For almost 40 years, Deb has been passionately involved with creating with glass.
In 1982, her husband gave her the gift of a stained glass class as a way to relax after her shifts as a police officer for the City of Concord. She was immediately hooked! Over the years she moved from traditional stained glass to sandblast carving and kiln fused glass.
In addition to being an original member of NH Valley Artisans, she is long-standing member of the League of NH Craftsmen..
The natural beauty of New Hampshire provides the inspiration for Deb’s glass work, and comes at the most unexpected times, such as during a leisurely Sunday drive, a peaceful walk in the woods surrounding her home, or a day spent at the seacoast.
It takes months for her work to go from inspiration to conceptual design. Then she heads for the studio where the glass will go through multiple firings of 8-48 hours in a glass kiln. The result isn’t guaranteed to match her vision, and as Deb puts it, “I pray to the kiln gods that I will be happy when the firing is done.”
